Sculptural Jewelry by emanuela aureli

i make jewelry to recollect the physical, to claim the body as
self-reference. i like bare surfaces, simple lines that give space shape,
bold touches of color that outline the simplest detail. objects to touch,
feel, hold, to wear on the body as intimate play objects.

James E. Binnion
James E. Binnion: My mokume gane wedding and engagement rings, jewelry and other objects employ a rare Japanese metal lamination process. Mokume gane, translates as "wood grain metal". It was originally created to decorate the samurai's sword. After extensive research on this ancient technique, I have developed my own modern method for making mokume gane using currently available equipment and materials. In my work I fuse sheets of platinum, gold, and silver alloys together. I then forge and carve the stack to create the patterns in the metal.
